I thought I would carry on the American theme in tonights post and show you some of my New York photos from when I went out there in April. It was a pretty spontaneous trip where I found myself booking onto flights in a moment of madness just two nights before leaving. I was in a very delusional state after pulling several all nighters on my final major project and staying over at university for a whole week, as well as just receiving the results for my dissertation. I actually crashed the university trip as I had failed to apply and was just so upset that some of my friends were going, in a moment of complete craziness and extreme envy I booked myself onto the same flights - not even telling one of my tutors I was coming. I have never been so hasty in making a decision before, and I must say it felt absolutely fantastic, although made me extremely nervous about something going wrong. My friends thought I was mad but I was determined to make it work, and after cocking up my return flights I thought I was doomed from there after. Everything turned out okay though and I managed to stay in the same place as the rest of the group which was fantastic. I had such a great time, and although I wished I had more time to process the idea of going to NY and working out all the places I wanted to go to (as well as save up more money because I rinsed my entire overdraft on the trip) I wouldn't take it back for a second. New York is such a magical place, it really is, I just couldn't get over the electric atmosphere and friendly nature of the natives. I am so happy that I took the plunge and went, it was such a great way to end my time at university. During the week my friends and I visited the sites and museums, watched design presentations at Parsons, ate lots of yummy food, rode the subway and standardly did a lot of shopping, especially for trainers (my tutor is obsessed!). I also visited Meryl Streep's apartment in Tribeca which although slightly stalky, was interesting to see. It was weird actually because she was walking her dog the day I was there so I am gutted we didn't bump into each other. Never mind. I can't wait to go back one day, I still feel like there is so much more to do and see in such a big, beautiful city.

  4. I'm so jealous of a) NYC, b) your spontaneity. Booking a flight home a few days before is as adventurous as I get i'm afraid...
