I am not one who usually wears eye shadow or any other make up on my eyes but mascara and maybe a little bit of eyeliner. I have become increasingly more interested in eye make up since watching and re-watching several YouTube tutorials and reading about a vast amount of eye shadow on all your blogs. I have really deep set eyes so when I wear shadow it's really hard for you to tell, but I keep on persevering because AW shades are so so pretty. While boots had 3 for 2 I opted for a couple of the Maybelline Eye Tattoos and I have used 'On and On Bronze' in this look. Having blue eyes, bronze shades really quite suit me, and aren't too harsh on my pale skin. I've had the MUA 'Undressed' palette for a year or so and dug it out of the box of unused make up to give it a try. I used shades 3 and 9 on top of the cream shadow for added shimmer. I am no way perfect at applying eye shadow but I know I need to get my hands on some suitable tools because I really lack in the appropriate brushes. Mac 217 has firmly made its way onto my wish list.
During the latter months I love a good berry/vampy lip as much as the next girl and so for this look I used one of my favourite Mac shades: Cyber. I must admit though, it is very difficult to work with and having small lips really doesn't help. I am in desperate need of a few good lip liners because this Sleek one, although a great shade, is pretty disappointing. It is horrendous to sharpen and the pencil bit just doesn't last long without breaking. To add a little bit of gloss to my Satin/Matte lips I used the 'Black Cherry' Stila Lip Glass which I got in a set last Christmas.
I am still not sure how I feel about myself with eye shadow but I am going to keep experimenting - I wouldn't wear it everyday to work though, who's really got time for that? Although the cream eyeshadows do look pretty on their own and are simple enough to apply so maybe I shall wear them more often - I love the consistency and strong pigmentation especially. The next eye product on my list is Mac's paint pot in 'Groundwork' as I have heard it's a really nice base for pale skin. As much as I am enjoying experimenting I don't want to splash out too much, despite how pretty the Urban Decay Naked palettes are! The MUA dupes are good enough for me... for now.
What do you think of my look?
