It's all about that base: PerriconeMD No Foundation Foundation (£45)*, an extremely light consistency that glides over and instantly perfects the complexion, restoring skin's inner radiance. The coverage is minimal, but if you're having a good skin day, this just takes the edge off: I am talking redness, uneven skin-tone and pigmentation, totally smoothed, all while providing a dewy, glowy finish. Because this is so light and sinks into the skin, you don't get the melting, sweaty effect of an actual foundation. Genius. This isn't cheap though, so I can imagine a tinted moisturiser or serum would work just as well. I pair this with the Smashbox Photofinish Hydrating Primer (£28) for an added layer of dewy moisture and base longevity.
Summer flush: theBalm FratBoy Shadow/Blush (£15.50), the most perfect peachy/apricot blush colour, which can double up as a shadow. Talc and paraben-free, the formula is a dream to apply: so soft and silky. I find you can either go bold or natural with this, but either way it stays put all day for that pretty, summery *a cute boy just winked at me* flush. I like to use this with my new Barbara Hoffmann Powder Brush (£12.95)*
Sunkissed: I would not be without my Soap & Glory Solar Powder (£11) during the summer, more so because I don't tan naturally so need a little help in looking sunkissed. I do also use this to chisel out my cheeks, but recently I have been loving applying it in the traditional bronzer way.
Natural Eyes: Keeping everything simple, I have continuously reached for cream shadows when I want my eye make-up to stay put. The Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Eyeshadow Leather Effect in Creamy Beige (£4.99) is great for a natural wash of colour that is long-lasting and doesn't crease. This makes a great base under powder shadows, but in the heat, who really can be bothered with an intricate three-shadow eye? Not me sir. With a slick of the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (£7.99), we're good to go.
Pucker up: A recent addition to my collection from my housemate is this Lord & Berry Lipstick Crayon (£10). I am not 100% on the shade but it's a lovely nude pink (possibly Vintage Pink) which brings everything together nicely. The formula has great colour pay off and is super creamy and shiny, almost like your lips have been splashed by the sea... OK maybe not quite, but pretty nevertheless.
