Friday Night Party Ready Essentials // #BootsBeautyBox

It may be 'Dry January' for many, but that's not to say we can't all get glam for a night on the town, or for a meal out with friends. Alcohol doesn't make the rules, so that's why I thought I would share with you some handpicked party ready essentials, just in case you're continuing the festivities well into January (I'm currently staring at the bottle of Babycham I am intent on drinking this evening). Granted, this was meant to help me create a New Year's Eve look, but sadly I didn't receive the box* in time - I left the office sooner than expected for the Christmas period, meaning I missed the post - never mind. When it comes to beauty, I wholly put my trust in Boots; it's one of the best in the UK for drugstore beauty and a store that I shop in regularly - I for one definitely treasure my Boots Advantage Card and I'd be shocked if you didn't. Boots kindly sent me this box full of magical make-up wonders that will transform your look ready for any party, including products for the face, eyes and nails...

FACE: The first thing I was instantly drawn to in the Boots Beauty Box was, without hesitation, the Sleek Make-up Precious Metals. The palette, not only encased in a shiny metallic gold case, comprises four highlighting shades targeted - I believe - more at the medium skin tones. This is not to say fellow paleys can't get on board as I find the shades blend really nicely on my complexion. One of the shades is of a cream consistency, whereas the other three are powders, and pigmented ones at that. I never new a violet-hued highlight would be so appealing, but for those with cooler skin tones, it's brilliant. The really light champagne shade is the most gorgeous thing for inner corner eye highlighting; get on board people! I use this following my base make-up, which also sees the application of the - also included - Barry M Flawless Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit. This little kit includes three shades that are the perfect tool kit for contouring on pale skin. The only shade I don't love as much is the light powder, which is meant to be for highlighting. This is only because I prefer a shimmery highlighter as opposed to matte, so I guess it all depends on preference.

COLLECTION is one of my favourite brands from the drugstore - and like many of you - I rely on the brand's Lasting Perfection Concealer for almost everything. To my shock, I realised I hadn't actually used any of the brand's eyeshadows prior to receiving this rather nifty little compact. There are two sides to the COLLECTION #YourStyleYourMood Eyeshadow Palette, one with golden bronzy shades off set with a deep, blackened purple; and one more heavily focused on brown and pink tones. I think the pinkier side is my favourite, and with five shades provided, it can create a plethora of eye looks with each shade transitioning well into the next. These shadows are surprisingly pigmented, apart from the lighter shades which struggle to show up on camera. There is a little fall out, but nothing extreme. They blend well too, so basically it's a double win!

EYES: No party look is complete with a) a cat eyeliner flick and b) some glitzy, full volume lashes. I was absolutely bouncing on the bed in excitement when I saw that the box included the L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim as I have heard SO many people rave about it and I hadn't yet run out of my other eyeliner to warrant a new purchase. This really is a fabulous product and I am gutted it's taken this long for me to realise. The formula is intense in pigmentation and the brush allows for accurate application and optimum control. For lashes, I 99% of the time remain loyal to Eylure, and for the recent party season they introduced a new limited edition range, whereby the Eylure Party Lashes Frozen Beauty featured. So first of all, yes these will make you feel like Elsa with a strong urge to break into the Let It Go song, and secondly they're just so god damn beautiful. Just look at those flecks of glitter. I'm definitely going to be flaunting these and batting my eyelids the next time I go to a party.

For nails, Boots kindly included the Nail Apothecary Gel Effect Top Coat, which helps create your own gel look-a-like nails while being long-lasting and chip-resistant.
