On Wednesday's We Wear Pink // Illamasqua Hypnotica
So in the spirit of one of the best films everrrrr (Mean Girls, obvs!), on Wednesday's we wear pink! I've wanted to create a bright pink make-up look ever since I laid eyes on the Illamasqua Hypnotica Collection, of which this post focuses on two of my favourite products from the new line-up. This make-up collection is ideal for the upcoming summer season (if we ever get more than a week's worth of sun) or for any festival festivities. I'm not going to any festivals, but I'd happily rock a hot pink eye day-to-day. I also think this look totes goes with my new hair do, despite it being three weeks since the dye job which has now slightly faded…
I did incorporate other products into this look (including the models own palette that I wrote about in this post), but I tried to keep the focus on the Illamasqua Lava Lips (£19.50)* and the Illamasqua Sketch Stick (£15) * in Fly. The collection of Sketch Sticks are amazing - so many bright shades, including orange, yellow, blue, green, white and black, and of course pink! Pink's definitely my fav, who doesn't love pink eh? The multi-use crayon is really easy to use too. I clearly got all crayon happy in the crease of my eye (on top of a pink cream shadow from Maybelline) and blended it out. I was surprised at just how well these blended, but they're incredibly creamy and really easy to work with, while staying put for ages. The only thing I will say is that the pink stained my eyelids for a little bit after removing my make-up. Apart from looking a little bruised post use, I am in love.
The product that has piqued the interest of many - including myself - is the Lava Lips marbled lipstick. How freakin' cool is this? It blends pink and blue together, whereby each lipstick is slightly different. The lipstick applies as a gorgeous pink-hued purple, which has a slightly different tone depending on application. The formula is pleasantly creamy and provides a smooth, satin finish, which I adore. Overall, it’s a winner. I think I might have to try the Illamasqua Lip Lures liquid lipsticks soon too. I just love Illamasqua as a brand; it really allows for experimentation, expression and creativity.
Do you love this collection? Would you dare to go pink?
