Primark AW16 Press Day // The Highlights
Last week I was very fortunate enough to attend the Primark AW16 press day, which y'know, is definitely a highlight of the fashion calendar. I LOVE Primark, but I mean, who doesn't these days? They are always on-point for fast, trend-led fashion and even more so when it comes to their homeware collection (SPOILER ALERT: there will be cactus candles soon, and who doesn't want a collection of candles that resemble their favourite succulents?)
"The lure of the city. The lights that never go out. The eternal evolution of style. The trends that are born and bred on our streets. The look that defines each city. Steeped in history. A story around every corner. The city is what you make it"
Fashion wise, the autumn/winter collections from Primark are by far my favourite when comparing to spring/summer. This opinion is probably most weighted on the fact that autumn is my favourite season, and cosy knitwear and pink faux fur coats are my idea of city chic. In fact, the fur coat looks like it's going to be making a resurgence again this year, which I am thrilled about. Especially coloured fur; there's something oh so European about it. No, just me? The pink one pictured will be £30 and I will race you in store just to grab it - don't say you haven't be warned! Primark also showcased a floor length military style jacket, which is right up my street!
What also caught my eye, not at the physical event, but in the press pack, was the presence of embroidered jeans. Primark will be releasing some vintage-esque floral embroidered jeans (1/3 of the way down on one leg) for £17! That's pretty awesome. The dusky pink bomber jacket with embroidered birds and flowers is also on its way to being mine (I hope), it will be great to chuck on with some jeans and a tee for a casual autumnal look.
Some of the accessories I can also see becoming staple pieces, especially the little black evening bag with tassel and gold chain. However, where Primark have really triumphed is in the area of beauty. Specifically I'm talking about their new range of make-up brushes and rose gold beauty tools - the dupes for the Iconic/Artis brushes are amazing! ALSO, If you didn't think you needed a rose gold pair of nail clippers, think again because girlll you do!
