NEW IN // GOSH AW16 Make-up Collection

I use a lot of high end brands, but I also use a lot of products from the good ol’ drugstore. GOSH is one of my all time favourite budget make-up brands and their collections never fail to excite me. One thing I like about GOSH is that I can trust the products. I say this because more often than not, I find myself reapplying product throughout the day, but with GOSH I find the performance to be outstanding. For AW16 the brand has created a collection, that I must confess isn’t breathtaking in the way of innovation and colours, but it’s reliable and has a raw beauty about it. It would make sense then that the collection was inspired by the Nordic/Danish raw beauty of nature; a barren landscape softened by the sea and the coast’s ever changing expression. Interestingly, the key ingredient - the focal point - is bladderwrack seaweed, which is said to have regenerative properties and contains more than 10 times as many minerals in addition to being protecting, nourishing and moisturising.

There are three products in this collection that have really stood out to me over the past month of use, so I thought I would run through those with ya because, well, you need to get your mitts on them don't ya? Yep you do.

Foundation Plus+ (£9.99) - a foundation and concealer in one which provides natural, high coverage with a silky satin finish. I love the look of this on my skin; my complexion emits glow and all imperfections are well disguised. This feels and looks - I believe - like it could be a high end foundation, it’s so lightweight also. The only negative thing I have to say is that I seem to be getting through the bottle quite quickly… I do need quite a bit to cover my face as it’s a little on the thicker side.

Giant Pro Liner (£6.99) - now when I first saw this I thought, bloomin’ heck it’s practically a sharpie. It does look like one though doesn’t it? Or one of those whiteboard pens your teacher used to use in school? I’m not a pro at doing my eyeliner by any stretch of the imagination, but surprisingly, this works quite well. I wouldn’t use this for anything subtle but for a chunky wing it’s great. The shape of the nib almost creates a wedge-type wing for you, which is super handy. The only annoying thing is that it transfers slightly onto the lid if you have a super heavy line and droopy lids like me. Once it fully dried though it was fine.

Lash Sculpting Fibre Mascara (£9.99) - I absolutely ADORE GOSH mascaras; they’re always the perfect type formula and brush for my straight, sparse eyelashes. This works really well at lengthening my lashes, which is probably due to the added fibres that are up to 2mm long and the Tynex brush. I get so many compliments when I wear this, which isn’t bad for someone with no lashes naturally.

Obviously I am also in love with the new shades of the GOSH Velvet Touch lipstick (£6.99), because as I have rambled and rambled on about before, they are my favourite drugstore lipsticks. The new shades are totes autumnal and really work with every complexion. The only shade I don’t have is the Matt Purple, which I will venture in to get very soon. The rest of the collection comprises the GOSH Contour’N Strobe Kit (£12.99), which contains a highlighter, blusher and two contour shades; Brow Sculpting Fibre Gel (£6.49), available in two colours; and Overnight Primer Oil Essence (£14.49), which bridges the gap between a primer and skincare to optimise the benefits of beauty sleep to prep the skin with moisturised, glowy skin come morning.

How pretty is this make-up on my face though? The only thing I'd say is that the brow fibre gel probably needs pairing with another product if you're after the defined look.
