If you asked me five years ago what my favourite blusher was, I wouldn’t have been able to answer. Blush was the one product I was scared to experiment with because of my already, naturally flushed complexion. I think the only blushers I ever used as a tween were the little pots from Bourjois, in the brightest pink imaginable (obvs!). Fast forward five years and I am a bit of a blush fiend. I realised that if I was going to cement my face with foundation, I needed to add some dimension and colour back into the face. Obvs bronzer goes hand-in-hand with blush, but sometimes I only need the blush and can quite happily step outside wearing only foundation and blusher.
I do try to use darker shades during the autumn, but that’s not always viable with pale skin, so I have rounded up my top five current favourite blushers that I think y’all should try!
Sleek Blush in Pomegranate (£4.99) - This is one I pull out every time Autumn rolls around. Pomegranate represents its name perfectly with a rich berry hue with coppery gold undertones. This looks as though you’ve pinched your cheeks in cold weather; the perfect natural, cold weather flush of colour.
Burberry Lip & Cheek Bloom in Rose (£24)* - I adore the texture of this; it’s super creamy and bouncy and delivers a petal-soft flush of wearable colour to the cheeks. I tend to gravitate towards this on those ‘I can’t be bothered but I want to look decent’ days.
Vincent Longo Water Canvas Blush in Swan Lake (£33.50)* - Similar in formula to the Burberry blush but ever so slightly more hydrating. Infused with microwater, this not only adds a natural-looking flush, but it makes skin feel and remain hydrated. This is a slightly duskier shade with mauve undertones - a winner for pale skin!
Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Lavish Mauve (£8.99) - Can you tell I love dusky mauvey tones yet? This is another oldie but definitely a goodie. I love both baked and multi-tonal products and this is such a sweet powdery shade that is lovely for Autumn. I like to use this when wearing a slightly warmer eye look.
NARS Orgasm Limited Edition (£28)* - Many will tell you this blush is a staple for summer, but I also love to use it throughout every season; it’s a go to product that will always remain a classic. NARS say it’s the ultimate authority in blush and I am inclined to agree. The peachy pink, golden tones are an ideal match for a coppery eye.
